Over the last few months, I have had a few things happen in my life that warrant celebration…

I moved studios. After renting studio space in the Academy of Realist Art for almost two years, I decided that it was time to leave my alma mater. Now that I am a working artist, I wanted a larger studio space of my own, where I can paint big and dream bigger.

I seriously moved almost entirely using a bike trailer and a wagon (which conveniently fits on to my bike trailer), both of which are featured in the picture above. Please note this picture was taken pretty early in the moving process, when moving w…

I seriously moved almost entirely using a bike trailer and a wagon (which conveniently fits on to my bike trailer), both of which are featured in the picture above. Please note this picture was taken pretty early in the moving process, when moving with a bicycle still seemed like fun, and not the crazy, exhausting idea it turned out to be. Thank you to Alexandrea Nicholas-Jennings for the photo!

I totally lucked out. I am now working in a beautiful 479 sq. ft. studio space that is only a few minutes away from my apartment. My favourite thing about the new studio - besides the amount of space - is the huge window that looks over the West Toronto Railpath.

So pretty…

So pretty…

Earlier this month, I also celebrated my birthday! On September 11, I turned 36. Now that I am in my new work space, I am in a particularly celebratory mood and am excited to see what the new year has in store.

So please help me celebrate my good fortune, my new studio space, and my birthday!

On September 28, 2019 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., I will be hosting a studio warming (birthday) party in my new studio! Located in the Junction, I can be found in Studio 330 at 1655 Dupont Street. My studio is on the third floor of the Planet Storage warehouse, located in the Courtyard Studios.

The studio is located less than a block East of the intersection where Annette Street, Dundas West and Dupont Street all meet! The other close major intersection is Dupont and Symmington.

There will be refreshments on hand, including birthday cake, and I will be doing live painting during the Studio Warming Party as well.

But wait - there’s more!

I think a party is better with sale prices - don’t you agree?

Now that I’m starting this new chapter, I want to help my current artwork find it’s forever home.

For the Studio Warming Sale, I am going to be selling my work at prices between 20 and 25% off.

*Please note that brand new work will not be discounted.

Maybe you saw some of my art earlier this year, thought about taking it home, but the time did not feel right for buying a piece of original art… I can totally understand that. But now we’re over halfway through September. Maybe things have changed? Christmas is coming in a few months… Let me just say, now would be an excellent time to invest in a piece of original, one-of-a-kind art.

If you are curious to see the art work that will be included in the sale, I am in the process of adding it to my online shop. And it will even be available at a sale price before September 28!

*ADVANCE ONLINE SALE*

starting Thursday, September 26, 2019

With this online promotion, you can get in on some great deals, even if you can’t come to the actual Studio Warming Party on September 28. It’s also an ideal solution if you don’t want to take the risk of someone buying your favourite piece of artwork before you get to the Party…

I’ll have a variety of pieces on sale, like this painting of Michelle Williams…

Indie Darling, 15 x 18”, oil on canvas

…and this portrait study I completed in charcoal and white chalk (one of my absolute favourites)…

Solitude, 26 x 30”, charcoal and white chalk on toned paper

…and this sweet Norman Rockwell-esque self-portrait study.

Surprise!, 9 x 9”, graphite on paper

Since these are all original pieces of art, there is only one of each. In other words, once any of these pieces are sold, they are truly gone.

I also may have something for you, even if you are not in the market for an original piece of art. I am entering the wonderful world of reproductions.

At this time, I am in the process of ordering reproductions of several of my works from a fantastic nearby business - the Image Foundry. At the Studio Warming Party, I will be offering clients the opportunity to pre-order my reproductions at a discounted price. Images available for pre-order will be revealed at the Studio Warming Party.
